A nice little short by Jeff White, Max Tubman, and Sarah Grillo. I had the pleasure of working with Jeff and Max a year ago on a music video blog project for our local record store Pure Pop Records. Unfortunately we were only able to make one video due to lack of time and funding. I really can’t describe how important and wonderful my time Burlington, Vermont has been… but this video does a great job of capturing some people’s opinions on this special place.

mail art forever

I recently started a new mail art project with Dina Kelberman where we mail back and forth weird baby pictures. I seem to have been a well documented baby who was constantly making the most insane faces. So it was decided that an exchange needed to occur and today I received this from Dina:

AWESOME. I’m sending her this in return,

NEATO. Also my friend Taylor McVay (also here) and I decided to start a snail mail exchange. Here’s a letter I’m sending out to her. I made the envelope out of an “ATOMIC AGE” magazine page which was printed in 1975 and outlines all the coolest stuff from the 1950’s. A Calder mobile adorns it’s back cover.

The caption for the photograph reads “a pleasant kitchen.” The man is in a suit, he is surrounded by fruits and vegetables. They’re cool accents for a modern man to have in his kitchen.

mail art project: ryan syrell

Ryan Syrell and I have been working on a mail art project for the past 9 months. Through the channels of the US postal service we have exchanged photographs, paintings, drawings, prints, collages, found things, knit things, letters, jokes… all sorts’a stuff! Here are some photos of the first package that I received from Ryan.

“force” painting/drawing (9 x 11 1/2 in)

“cartoon landscape study # 7″ painting on wood ( 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 in )

“garnfield” the retold story of garfield

photocopy! it’s an illustration/diagram that’s a combination of a sephiroth [or sephirot], a highway map, and a constellations of sigils made up of each of his band-mate’s names.

new work / hello

Hey! Hello! How’s it goin’?!

Hooray for new work eh?

I’ve been working on a few new bodies of work (click on the images a few times to enlarge):

One with disposable cameras,

one with a 1/2 frame 35mm camera,

one with polaroids,

and two series are yet to be processed with a 26mm film camera and 6×7 camera.

For the time being all these projects are going to fall under “color” or “black & white” accordingly.

Under the “more” section you’ll find drawings, water colors, collage/mixed media, work in printmaking, sculpture, ect.

Keep checking back because I’m in the midst of creating a limited run of art journals for $ale as well as having some prints available.
